Telling stories is our passion.

Creating change is our responsibility.

We can no longer ignore the diminishing number of animal species across the planet and turn a blind eye to the negative impact of our actions. At Kalamo Productions, we have an obligation to illuminate the stories of the people working on the front lines of human-animal injustice and champion their efforts in creating a better world.

The name Kalamo means lion in Nyanja, one of the native languages spoken in Zambia and across Southern Africa. This choice was made to honor Zambia, as it is truly the birthplace of our company. The name embodies our support for wildlife and marks our continued cooperation with those fighting for the natural world.

As a testament to our gratitude and desire for change, a large percentage of profits from every documentary made by Kalamo Productions will go back to the communities and NGO’s that were a part of telling that story.

Fairlie Arrow

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Originally from Australia, Fairlie has been involved in the entertainment industry as a musical artist, an on-air sports analyst, and for the last 10 years has been working behind the camera in all facets of production. Her expertise in the industry married with a deep emotional connection with wildlife and the environment began what has since emerged as Kalamo Productions.

For Fairlie, Kalamo Productions is the culmination of a lifetime of experiences rooted in love and respect for nature, as well as a feeling of personal responsibility to create a positive impact on the world and all its beings.

Fairlie’s hope is that these films not only educate, but build connections, and inspire us to become better stewards of the earth.
