Why Join Us & Guardians of the Wild
THE PROJECT
Guardians of the Wild is a cinematic short-form docu-series (20-30 mins per episode) produced by The Human Wildlife Coexistence Initiative (501(c)3 in partnership with Kalamo Productions. These emotionally charged, visually rich films spotlight the individuals and communities protecting our wildlife, public lands, and environmental rights—right here in California and across the U.S.
Each film is an urgent story of resistance: activists standing up to regulatory rollbacks, Indigenous land defenders protecting sacred spaces, environmental scientists battling climate threats, and legal warriors holding corporations accountable.
Wings in Crisis is the first episode currently in production as part of a cinematic short form docu-series called Guardians of the Wild.
Each film tells an urgent, yet hopeful story, spotlighting the people & communities protecting wildlife, public lands, and environmental rights. From Indigenous land defenders to environmental scientists, these stories reveal the courage and resilience driving change.
Together, they form a rallying cry, proof that when people stand up for our wild places, change is not only possible, it’s inevitable.
