Although Kalamo is a for-profit company, a large percentage of profits from our films go to the communities and NGOs that were a part of telling each story. While we’re deeply committed to bringing these critical stories to life, producing them entirely for free simply isn’t sustainable—neither for us nor for other dedicated creatives in this specialized field. Like many in our industry, we’re striving to ensure filmmakers and freelancers can make a fair living doing meaningful, impactful conservation storytelling.

To bridge this gap, we’ve developed a funding model designed to support conservation projects by subsidizing production costs. This allows us to fairly compensate our creative teams and deliver compelling, high-quality films that drive awareness and inspire positive change.
